This weekend I made my first trip to the new wall: Prohibition. My first impression is that this place is amazing. Its a long haul from Fayetteville, but its well worth the trip. I also made my first trip to my good friend Reed James' place in Harrison, Arkansas where I was treated like a king, true southern hospitality. Thanks for everything Reed, Marlo and Bubba.
The trip was great. We shot guns till our ears rang, and ate bacon till our stomachs were full and climbed till our fingers bled.
The Prohibition wall was shown to me by good friend Cole Fennel. It yields some of Arkansas most incredible Power-Endurance climbing. Sustained difficulty on very good holds but in a 40 degree overhanging section of wall for about 30-45 feet of climbing. The wall adjoining Prohibition, the All American Wall, hosts some of Arkansas best 5.11 sport climbing with equally attractive features but on a less steep section of the cliff band. Thanks to everyone who helped get me out of the gym and do some actual climbing this weekend. Here are some photos from the weekend. Hope you enjoy them.
P.s. Don't ask me how to get here, because I honestly couldn't show you if I wanted. I rode as a passenger the whole time and only know that its buried deep in the Arkansas forests.
